Process

1. Gather

Easily find and aggregate the best content

Think what information will help make your customers smarter about your brand, products, services or community.

The best information for your brand could be social (status updates, blogs), news related, reviews, opinion pieces, testimonials or academic research. It could be anything. And Curation Station will help you gather it—in any format (videos, photos or text).

You can import automated feeds (RSS, OPML) or use our search tools to locate and automatically pull in content from Twitter, Google Alerts, YouTube and Flickr. Our browser bookmarklet tool makes it easy to grab any other kind of web content and add it to your content queue.

Curation Station allows you to gather an unlimited supply of content, regardless of pricing plan. So you’ve got a greater chance of vetting the most useful information for your customers.

2. Select

Curate lots of content quickly, with a simple click

Now it’s time to vet the raw content you’ve gathered. You’re acting like a radio DJ or magazine editor—selecting just those items in your queue which help create intelligence, which help make your customers smarter.

Item 1: Your content source list allows you to view all new items and make selections across all sources, or dive into specific sources (e.g. a single Twitter feed). This is the same interface you’ve used to add content sources.

Item 2: Making a selection is done with one click. You can also use your keyboard’s up and down arrow keys to surf through a list quickly and vote “yes” or “no” with the left and right arrows. You can opt to have your selections posted live immediately, or held in an approval queue. And taking an item down is as fast as unclicking “Publish.”

Item 3: Sometimes it helps to provide greater context. Curation Station allows you to post your own text comments alongside any curated item.

3. Share

Swiftly customize how you display curated content

We recognize brands have visual standards they want to maintain. So Curation Station allows for a very high degree of flexibility in how curated content gets displayed.

From a design perspective, our default settings let you control the overall size of the Playlist you want to publish; fonts (from establish web stacks), their sizes and colors; background colors and border colors. This rich set of controls matches most social web environments.

From a tech perspective, Curation Station’s default Playlists can be distributed through various technologies, including script embeds, API calls, and RSS. In most cases, sharing is as easy as implementing one line of code. Our base code supports the distribution and transmission of content reliably and with low latency to nearly any digital environment.

We also provide completely custom development with PHP environments and WordPress, upon request.
